In Pennsylvania the hunters calendar is defined and measured by deer seasons. Particularly optimistic hunters will tell you there is no such thing as a post season, it is simply time to prepare for the next ephemeral season to follow. While it is true that time can be measured by rut and by rifle for the purpose of this publication; we will start our calendar in the late winter, early spring post season.
As an attempt to connect with and honor a place, I will be telling tall tales and documenting a season in the Allegheny National Forest region of Pennsylvania; particularly focusing on the areas of Tunungwant and Upper Allegheny Watersheds.
Follow along as I rediscover a special place through hunting, fishing, and time spent close to the land.
